What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

2007 remix 2 cd edition, almost impossible to get the CDs out of the sleeve. I think I am the first one to borrow this CD from the library, I wonder what state the cover will be in by the time of the 20th borrower.

It's one of my favourite albums of the year. Sometimes I think it's going to be over familiar buut then I just whack the volume up and big grins ensue...

Actually it has grown on me. I am not sure I would draw Springsteen parellels - actually there are some real hints of Thin Lizzy hidden away in it.

If you can get on with the Craig Finn's vocals and lyrics (I have no problems but I have heard others suggest he sounds like a drunk in a bar) then it is a great album - nice recording as well.

It is an album you can buy and enjoy - but it ain't close to The Boss.

Cheers
