What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

New Year's Day Concert

Tue 1 Jan, 11:15 am - 12:45 pm 90mins

Live from the Golden Concert Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna, the world's most popular annual concert, the traditional New Year's Day Concert performed by the Vienna Philharmonic conducted by Georges PrÃtre. The 2008 concert predominately features the music of the Strauss dynasty and locations around Vienna provide stunning backdrops for performances by the Ballet of the Vienna State Opera and Volksoper. Vienna's famous Lipizzan horses also make a choreographic appearance. [S]

Well I hope one of the commercial recording companies releases today's New Year's Days Concert. The best for years! I would add it to the other two I have from 1979 and 1989!
