What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

I don't have it on CD, but from my LP12 days I seem to remember it being a bit shrill and lacking real body compared to say, Innervisions or Talking Book. I have the remastered CDs of those and they stand up well.

Thanks. Had tried that but couldn't make it work. Will try again....
Still cannot. This is what I get, I am probably missing something on the URL, but don't know what:

Hi Ale
That is because the picture is on your PC. It needs to be on a web site somewhere. I just use the cover images from Amazon.com - for example
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51hQsrNh9HL._SS400_.jpg between the {IMAGE} and {/IMAGE} replacing the curly brackets with [ and ] gives a nice picture of the lady from Canada who made the best album released for years.

I can't do it either - see above. I can't work out what to go when the Amazon picture is on the screen. Copy it, copy link or whatever. Never mind.

Nigel,
Go to amazon or similar, right click on the image you want (the medium sized image that accompanies the details of the CD is usually large enough - see the James Brown pic at the foot of the previous page).
In the tab select "properties" then copy the full url of the image.
In your forum reply click the Display Image icon (2nd from right) paste the url and click the little OK button. Add any text to your reply if you want to and click "post now".

When you have found the picture you want, right click it and go to 'properties'. There you will find the url for the image. Copy it, then paste it into the box that pops up when you click on the 'Display image' icon 2nd from right in the reply box.
Then click post and job's a good 'un.

radiohead - in rainbows. Just bought the CD (new) from HMV for $9.99 canadian (about a fiver.) Interesting that they include sticky cover art if you want to buy a jewel case; If only all artists did this for $9.99 I'd be very pleased indeed....Oh and I like the album it too!

Gianluigi,
Great band, but this album hasn't grabbed me like their others. I think it may be time to drag it out again. It's probably a grower like the Finn album which was initially a listen once then file, a few months later I listened to it again and it quite literally stayed in the CD player for a month.
Whats your take on it ?

Ctrl-click on the picture and select Copy Image Address on a Mac and then use Apple-V to copy into the image box - if you have a Mac that is.

Thanks for that - it's been baffling me for ages. You'd think that with a first class degree, a PhD and a basic food hygiene certificate I'd have been able to work it out!
