What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

I can well believe it - even if was only one track by the likes of Dolly Parton or Johnny Cash it would be worth it IMHO

Preludes for an early sunny-icy morning.

I went to get the paper. It is so cold outside that I almost did not return..

I have all three sqatsi dvds they are great films and the music is also brilliant.
If you have not seen them put them on your list as must haves.
You can get the first two as a box set.

Hi Munch

Thanks for the tip - it's in my black book of must have!

I was fortunate enough to see Philip Glass & his orchestra perform the soundtrack live whilst they screened the first film at the Barbican. They played at about 11 on the volume dial and it was pretty much a visual/aural overload by the 45th minute. Awesome experience!

Hi von zipper

I was at that concert & agree it was staggeringly brilliant!

Haven't played this for ages, but, my God, "Slip Inside This House" sounds as awesome and unhinged as ever! Must be one of the best "acid-rock" tracks ever recorded.

That must of been something to see and hear live like that.

It was, & in the blink of an eye I'd go if Mr Glass put the show on again !
