What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Well Bruce I checked out the FC&R MySpace and just placed my order from Caiman, thanks again.
BTW what were the spin off groups that came out of Jellyfish? I know Jason Falkner, but forget the others?

This album is more varied that the other one, there are some other instruments (bass, violin, tom-toms) on some of the tracks. It is also more exuberant and fun - but perhaps not quite such a jaw-droppingly virtuoso showcase of their talents. Some of the track are even quite slow - but nonetheless beautiful. Some of the tracks sound almost celtic (and that is a good thing IMHO!).

So I like it, if you like the other CD I think you'll find this sufficiently different to be worthwhile.

One to test the lower frequencys.. I rmemember in the bad old days (TEAC) thinking some of these lower registers were just noise.. Now I can hear they are individually plucked notes..mmmmmm

How come my copy is different to yours. I got mine from the USA when it was released. Maybe thats why the cover is not the same.

Given the number of votes in the Top 1000 albums thread I thought I would give this a try...

Had it been a top 50 then it still would have featured - the wonderful MCC at her sparkling best.
