What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

I have to admit that I have never really got to grips with this as a piece of work that fully grips me from the start to finish.. I find it a little confusing, however the sheer scale and power of this recording even through the little nait and cd5i is overwelming.

Warming up for his new release 'Rain' which should be in the post... I'm hopeful it will be JJ on top form after the excellent live gigs last year at which he was clearly fine tuning the material.

Lizz Wright is a favorite of ours- different cover from mine though! Should be a new CD out in the spring if you like her stuff. Her earlier CD 'Salt' is also good.

On Amazon.com there are two images for "Dreaming Wide Awake". This one apparently has extra tracks.

I have no prior experience of her and bought this based on discussions here. It was £8 so not too much for a punt into the unknown Smile

On vinyl and without the "plus" but only picture I could find! Just fancied it tonight - haven't listened to it in ages..sounds good though
