What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)
Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005
Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.
So, what are you listening to right now?

Excellent stuff Diccus. Haven't gotten around to getting her discs but a friend of mine has them all and I love them.
If my aged memroy serves me well. The Dap Kings provided the backing for Amy Whitehouses disc.

To go with the fresh falling snow.
Hi Haim - lovely album, that - though best used sparingly, in my experience.
Agreed, Droo.
Just like Turkish coffee, Alina tastes better in small measures..
Munch,
The weather is not that bad. We enjoyed a 5 KMs walk in the snow. The large coyote who wandered into our back yard was having also a great time chasing the squirrels around.
Regards,
Haim

A new purchase yesterday. I bought " High Land, Hard Rain" years and years ago so I thought I'd have a go at another album.

Nigel,
A great Leeds band and another cracking debut. Clearly a man after my own heart.
The Cure do seem to pop up on here from time to time, but it always seems to be the later albums.
Regards
Nic

Actually I'm amazed you asked - I've never seen a Cure album posted here. I'm inspired to put the Gang of Four up and see if anyone likes them!!

Jethro Tull Original Masters.
12 great tracks.

Should have been re-mastered - I have the CD and it's OK. I don't think the re-mastering engineers have done justice to the great JT.
Aqualung is a very very very very good album.
Living In The Past - is a really nice collection of JT songs and has On The Inside from Benefit, which is one of my favourite tracks.

I have 2 copys on vinyl and the cd.
Its one album that is very good on both formats.
Munch
Hi Munch,
Yes, it sounds great. So does this:

A lot of people gave this a premature thumbs down IMO. The fact that I have most other Beatles albums, but still play this regularly, makes me think that maybe these Martin boys might have known what they were doing after all.

Hi munch re BOC album to quote "strangely strange but oddly normal".It is inoffensive album I'm just not sure what it is. Genrewise that is. Not that it makes any difference really ,I do tend to like to be able to pigeon-hole things though. Trancy, spacey sort of thing I guess.
