What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

This album will probably appeal to many folk who may think they aren't into jazz music...
Fantastic Musicians, and with such a splendid line up of very talented singers, Norah Jones, Tina Turner, Corinna Bailey Rae, Joni Mitchell, Luciana Souza and Leonard Cohen!
This Album is Wonderful: Grammy Award??... I'm not surprised!! : )

I'm not a big Herbie fan but this album is outstanding - loved it from the first listening. And yes, the guest list is not too bad either. Well deserved Grammy.
Cool

I'm gonna give this one a go. Seems to have some good reviews on here anyway.

Maybe need to give it a listen. I went off Herbie after going to watch him and the Headhunters. Most boring gig ever. The drummer did a 10 minute solo in the middle of one song. Nearly fell asleep.

A question for you, Stefan: Do you keep it with your books or with your discs..?

Regards,
Haim

that tells me that you have this ? in fact, a difficult question...

with the music, so far...

cheers

No, Stefan, I don't have it. I was expecting of such a well organized person like you to own two copies of La Ruta; one to keep with the literature and the other one with music...

Haim

This is more like a Roman Triumvirate on the Italian label EGEA.

John Taylor, piano
Steve Swallow, Bass
Gabriele Mirabassi, clarinet

It is a good CD and I am pleased to see that such a CD could get a Grammy for Best Album. There were other albums I preferred last year but this was in the top 10%.

So after this artistic high, the worst musical event for me last year was Herbie live with his Headhunters style band. A waste of an evening.
