What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

bought 4 Dusty CD' recently and they came in a book simply called "Simply... DUSTY"

some of the recording quality leaves quite a bit to be desired but her unique musical style still comes through. i wish i was a son of a preacher man!

i have been meaning to get this "... in Memphis" for some time, never got round to it -- perhaps you have just prompted me now -- thanks.

the other collection i am listen to is Richard Thompson "The life and music of Richard Thompson" -- this also comes with 5 CD's and quite an interesting book as well.

much listening to do and so little time! and then there is work to do!

enjoy

Oh dear they seemed soo much better in the '60s.
Still nostalgia is not all it's cracked up to be.

Fraimed - from Alex's naim period - it contains one of my very favourite songs There's no lights on the Christmas tree mother, they're burning big Louie tonight.

Not bad ROTF Smile and I agree with you on your recommendations. One of the best gigs I ever saw SAHB in about '73-74. Can't remember the exact date.

Graham....The two above are pretty good. Yes her jazz funkish style is there and she mostly sings stuff she wrote herself which really fits with her rather unique voice. Quality backing players with some nice solo touches. Very easy to listen to and appreciate.

Thanks Geoff, I've just ordered these two and "On Broadway" which gets very good reviews.
