What are you listening to right now? (VOL I)

Posted by: Tam on 06 June 2005

Anyway, to kick things off, I'm currently, and probably for most of the rest of this week, listening to Radio 3's Beethoven Experience. They're doing one of the piano concertos at the moment and (number 2 with Glenn Gould). Anyway, the experience thing probably needs its own thread, but, even on this cheapo radio it's proving fairly enjoyable.

So, what are you listening to right now?

Possibly the greatest rock n roll record in my collection including a stunning version of Rolf Harris's Sun Arise and it opens with my favourite ever AC track Caught In A Dream - what great lyrics; he must have had a premonition about the sales people I meet at work:

I need a houseboat
and I need a plane
I need a butler
and a trip to Spain
I need everything
the world owes me
I tell that to myself
and I agree

Stuart,

That is a great LP, Giles doing Brahms Piano Concerto No 1. The only thing that can top it (in my humble view) is Sviatoslav Richter playing Brahms Piano Concert No 2 with the Chicago Symphony (RCA). I grew up with this concerto played at our house constantly and by now I know it by heart. If you have a chance, have a listen of it.
