Unwell mouse

My standard wired mac mouse is not reacting to the little wheel.
Is it worth getting the wireless mouse to replace it?
Or is there a better solution?
TIA

Unlike most other Apple kit, the Mac wireless mouse isn't very good IMO. I ditched mine & got a very nice bluetooth Logitech mouse which is much better.

New mouse was unveiled by Apple along with all the new iMacs / MacMini / MacBook on Tuesday.

I have broke 5 MacMouse's in as many years.
Logitech seems to be indestructible & you get free upgrades on the wibly web.
Not sure about wireless or bluetooth, seems they both do the same, but don't see whats the diff.
I have a old man sized rat proportioned mouse that fits my hand, she who shall be obeyed has a mini-mouse and I can't get on with it, so my advise is to get a good hand fitting Logitech.

Can you guys give some model numbers please?
Would my mouse be covered on the Applecare agreement?
I have found the standard mouse to be quite good , I didn't think that little scroll button would work well, but it has, 'til now.

My Apple mouse has no wheel - one click does all.

You can't keep up with model numbers, they change almost every month.
Go for one that ticks more boxes, fits what you want it to do, is in budget and has a good (claimed) battery life
They are all good, just like Naim, so do more and/or better.

Mike,
The bluetooth will have a longer range than the stabndard wireless mouse. The bluetooth "should" also work in another room, making it possible to play computer games or even run your iTunes from a different room.

I gave up on the Mac mighty mouse, the scroll ball clogs up and continually needs cleaning
I now use a Macally Pebble mouse, it scrolls both vertically and horizontally and does not clog up

Well after my iMAC too throwing a wobbler this AM, I came in from work resigned to a few hours on the phone to Ireland.
I reset and reinitialised airport express (again) and everything started working again.
Whilst on a roll I cleaned the mouse wheel for the umpteenth time, and that too had decided to work now.
Bloody computers.

Wireless is fine, but with Bluetooth you don't need to plug a receiver into a USB port with a Mac - the onboard Bluetooth thingamy recognises it.
The other beef I had with the Apple mouse is its right-click function is very vague 7 you often end up with deselecting something you wanted to move.

My little scroll wheel on my mac mouse stopped working ages ago and I have no idea how you access it sufficiently to thoroughly clean it.
The new mouse looks fab in so far as there are no moving parts to clog with dust/ dirt etc.
Only draw back is that it requires the latest mac os so the cost to me would be £50 + £130!!

I wouldn't go back to a normal mouse again after using one of these. Extremely comfortable to use with your (either) hand resting on the body while your fingers do the twiddling.
Logitech Marble Mouse.

I am on the last iteration of 10.4. something, so the cost to me would be as stated above.

I just dampened a microfibre cloth and rubbed it back wards and forwards over the little wheel loads of times, that seemed to finally get it working again.
