NAC 32.5 input board question

Posted by: Stephen Bennett on 25 May 2001

My 32.5 has a through board I use for CD with phonos on it. Now I'll be using a Naim 3.5 (450 quid s/h, oh joy!) I'd like to use the DIN to DIN lead. I assume there's a DIN through board? If so, any ideas of the cost?

They already are! The tuner and two tape inputs have no "crapness" about them the way the variable level input boards had. The tuner input seems to sound the best (God knows why...).

Did you pull the tape output buffer boards from the tape input you were using (or both) when you tried it? The only reason I can think of that the tape input would have sounded worse would be if there was maybe a bit of interference between the input and output sections of the tape circuit, maybe?

The reason I'm asking is that I'll probably be playing with different inputs on my 32.5 in the next few weeks, and I'd be interested to know in advance.

Cheers
