I wonder why Our Adam edited that then? (Bored probably) or was asked to show signs of action by his peers?

Well I never. Although Youngs was the finest regular beer I was taught to enjoy and love in UK, and can't be compared in any way with this stuff (as they are simply very different), an IT HiFi specialist (teacher) was slagging off my beer choice at the weekend (Manchester good lad), which I listened to un til I realised he's spent the early part of the eve slurping er, Guinness,(end of discussion basically) innit*

Unles things have drastically changed in the last few years, as far as I'm aware real ale does not travel (had ESB in Amsterdam once, and that was all). The Youngs special that you had (unless made in the US under licence) was I suspect Keg stuff, like they sell here in Irish & ex British pubs, and has nothing what'soever to do with British Real Ale*

As barring GWB & TB, the rest of the er, civilised world believes that free & fair democratic elections can only be held in a er, free and fair democratic society will this mean that if the US or UK (like say Palestine or Afghanistan or Iraq) doesn't vote in what they desire, they'll not be recognised?

Fritz von Imagine the looney Religious (Muslim) left winning in the US, and the Looney non religious BNP winning in the UK with the window cleaning party in coalition*

I reckon for most ov yers the kit's more important than the music, as are the pretty expensive guitars more important than somebody actually putting an Mp3 etc on here, playing the bloody things, instead of just w******** over them*

Dear fritz,

The cues are out there! [Laconic Smiley].

It is extra-ordinary to most UK based people that Continental Europeans are so good at languages. One of the reasons my Norwegian is more or less restricted to understanding it spoken is that as soon as any Norwegian I have met, as soon as they realise I am English, absolutely insist on speaking in English. This extends to two Norwegians (or more) conversing, but in English so as not to exclude their foreign vivistor! Norwegians also are good in German, Danish, Swedish, and often Finnish.

My mother, apart from being very fine in the Sciences at school, also studied Spanish, Italian, and French, as well as the above of course, and so she became very useful to Bulmers when she first went there in the early 1970s.

As an aside it is probabaly of no interest to you at all that the former head office block of HP Bulmer is under consideration as the new base for the Herefordshire Council. It seems amazing to me that they are considering selling the rather wonderful Town Hall to help pay for this move. The Square Polo as the Bulmer block is known is certainly the grandest office block in Hereford. Scottish and Newcastle are not playing easy to get in the issue of the sale!

All the best from Fredrik

Nice to see the Yobs pic miraculously reappearing after 10 minutes? (I know it wasn't me John). Fredders, Brits who don't get talked to in English either maslke an attenmpt to learn, or with most 90% get up and go somehwere else including Norway (With money you have only to speak English, it's very very simple, like many of those I know with er, money)*

Dear Fritz,

Shame to bin the thread in my view.

I did not notice any agitating, but my view is live and let live. Most things that others would find perhaps slightly off colour I think are reasonable if contextualised! Context is important, but the world is a broad place, and that is good. So yes, I agree that I like broad minded people, and dislike those who want to change others by co-ersceon [spelling], rather, perhaps than try to persuade them with reasoned arguement, and perhaps accept failure with good grace!

I am off from work, feeling dreadful yeaterday, and I had a proper temperature last night, or else I would not be writing this at home at this very moment!

Do S and N Breweries make a a real ale. I doubt it! But I don't know...

I am not sure Frenchmen try very hard to speak English if they realise you are English! I did find when there for a fortnight in 1984, that if you speak in French to Frenchmen, they really are able to appreciate the effort. I found it brilliant when getting served beer in a bar!

Anyhow, though I am not quite myself, I am still able to send my best wishes to you, from Fredrik

Well I never knew that, but George, my other Fornam, has some fascinating variants!

As far as I know Poles have a least as fine a grade of footie fan as we have in UK. Possibly even more determined...

I bet German Police know how to deal with it though.

Just saw your edtited version of your last post.

I have not sent my dear Mama a birthday card since 1993, as she decided to go her own sweet way later that year. She had no idea how broadmindedly I would have taken to the idea of her marrying a Jordanian Muslim six years younger than I am! I bet he and I would have had at least as much of a laugh as she is incapable of. He still does not know my brother and me exist, but respect is respect, even if there is no love left...

I did indeed send her a book (second hand )Out of print and from the US) & of her choice) which was more expensive than 3 new ones actually. Regarding your tight wad comment, percentage wise that equated to me (of which I have no problem with) nearly two weeks houshold spending money, which I expect wouldn't cover one round of drinks with Our Micks 'mates' in their top class eateries?

Fritz von If I ever actually get a wad, I'll tell you how loose I can make it Our Dandy Beaner, innit*

P.S. Fredders, I've always sent my Old Girl a card, and always sent my Old Man one too (even though Our relationship was non existant, unlike others nearer home it seemed) and I've saved two stamps now since his death at the age of er, 67, 2 years afore almost (must be the Yorkshite in me innit).

Dear Fritz,

I never knew that either. Two Georges!

As for my father, he is dead as well, and my mother made it all too clear that she would not be pleased to receive any post from my brother or me.

I did startle her last Christmas. I took a risk and phoned her about nine-thirty in the morning -first time since 1993. Her mood was icy to say the least, but I guess if she invited me to Sunday lunch, I could hardly think there could be better news!
