Regina Spektor - Goddess!

Posted by: droodzilla on 14 April 2008

Some great videos of the hugely talented Regina Spektor's Lollapalooza performance on YouTube. Well worth checking out if you like odd(ish) female singer-songwriters:

Samson

Real Love

The Flowers
Watch out for high drama at the 4m30s mark.

Baby Jesus
Silly yet serious.

Looks like a great show!

I gave up on her a bit after finding her major label debut over-produced and a little disappointing, but these remind me what great raw talent she has. Very keen to see her live now.

Hi Nigel

She's a big favourite round these parts for sure ...you're right the last album was very different and I guess more 'accessible' but I still love it and it's got some amazing songs on it. Love the earlier stuff as well though like 'Poor Little Rich Boy' and 'Us'. Thanks for the links, will check them out - I've heard she's amazing live so definitely on my list to see.

Agreed - a very good record IMHO, but I can understand why Nigel says it's over produced.

I thought about you when I posted ROTF, but didn't think you were interested in hatless artists.

Steeve - the performance of "Poor Little Rich Boy" from the same show is ace (do people still use that word?!).

Good to see some Regina love on the forum!

Regards
