Rome (BBC drama)

How great was that?!

Classics lessons weren't like that! (Though our small sixth form class did once try to persuade our classics mistress to take us to the film 'Caligula'...)

Exciting, engaging, compelling and in its historical thrust even moderately accurate.

This is one thing I am happy for my licence fee to be spent on.

It makes me want to burst into song!

Senex McDonaldus habebat fundum
ee-i, ee-i, oh.
Senex McDonaldus habebat fundum
ee-i, ee-i, oh.
Et in hoc fundum habuit canem
ee-i, ee-i, oh.
Cum 'woof, woof' hic, 'woof, woof' ibi,
Hic 'Woof', ibi 'woof', ubique 'woof, woof'.
Senex McDonaldus habebat fundum
ee-i, ee-i, oh.

PS You don't want to be eating raspberry ripple icecream whilst watching.

Yes. I'm not a big watcher of television, but I really enjoyed the first series and last night's seemed to carry on from where it left off.

Compelling tv.

ps. I'm not even going to contemplate making a post in latin. My education was far too oikish!

Personally I was sucking on a dark chocolate magnum whilst watching it last night.
