IPad & Ndac don't get on?

Posted by: nitrous on 23 August 2010

Hi all, any idea why plugging the iPad into the ndac generates a flashing 'this device is not supported' message when plugged in to the front USB and doesn't play? Plugging in to rear USB doesn't give message, but still doesn't work.

Surely it (iPad)is just a big iPod as far a the ndac is concerned?

Cheers

I don't think so. AFAIK, it has a different authentication code so it doesn't present itself to the nDAC or anything else as a licensed to use iPod - quite why Apple has done this only they can explain. However, I think you can get digital out by using the camera kit and a USB to S/PDIF converter, but somebody more experienced than me with these gadgets will correct me.

ROTF, I see......not a big deal I was only 'playing' with new toy and was curious what quality it would provide.....

Thanks for reply.
