But the senior/executive managers are on a different planet all together.
I wish that were true - I think Douglas Adams proposed that very thing for Golgafrincham.

Do you think Croze would believe the planet was under threat from an enormous mutant star goat? He probably would.

Well no doubt everything will be fine and dandy when President Blair has his say.
In the meantime - whatever is left of the PO after so much dis - information and name calling (from both sides) is seen for what it is - most of us have got on and have done what we need to do to see the survival of their business.

“They think it’s all over!”

Apparently, the talks between Royal Mail Management and the CWU are still going very badly.

There is also many reports around the country of continued management bullying, intimidation ~ especially from London offices.
Also reported is special favouritism rights (overtime opportunities) being handed out to Scab workers who blacklegged the strike days.

Quite shocking really but I know of one Union rep who reminded a bullying shift manager of the terms of this recent ‘interim agreement’ and to keep things friendly though the seasonal pressure while the talks go on, but this shift manager would have nothing of it and in his anger he blurted out that "the interim agreement is only a holding measure until you go out on strike again in the new year!"

If the talk don’t improve today, on Friday 13th! : > the next strike action could be as early as next Friday.

It looks very much like the Management actually want us to go out on strike!

But that wouldn’t be the first time! Roll Eyes

And why would it not surprise me to find that they had an alterior motive for this? I find it constantly frustrating when I see management using negotiation as a tool to put in place steps to break industrial deadlock.
I had the the misfortune to spend four years involvement arguing a position with management all the way to a RAP (resolution and arbitration panel involving experts in industrial law),for management to decide that they did not recognise the decission of the RAP and refuse to got to ACAS (as this would be binding to both sides!). A four year stalling tactic or an ambitious attempt to find someone out there who would agree with their position?

If I say that in the interim period of time half of the union membership involved had retired and a compromise was suggested by management that certain payments be made and time off used to get the rest of the deal (thus saving them quite a few thousand and working it up the members who had retired (they had no vote on the deal and , shamefully, their working collegues got almost everything they were due). I did'nt know what side I was more angered by !
Debs, believe that 'The workers united will never be defeated',
but they have to remain united! Best of Luck and keep us informed, the posts here on this action have been far more informative than anything the Sun has bothered to report (sic).
