The effects of a Zoethecus Stand on Naim CD 5+ highcap

Over the past year, there have been a few posters wondering about Zoethecus stands. Haveing received mine yesterday, I can comment on its effect to my Nain CD 5+highcap. Fortunately or unfortunately, I do not have an all Naim system as I cannot afford to cahnge my Spectral Pre/amp to obtain Naim gear of equivilent quality.

Getting on to the stand's effect on my CD 5 + highcap, there is much PRAT and pitch defenition, coupled with more dynamics and emotion. The performers seem to communicate more. Treble is better integrated and fatigue free. Bass is more textured. Sound Stage depth is improved. Overall a significant + in that I am much more drawn into the music.

Some of the effects may also be due to the pre/amp performing better as Spectral recommends Zoethecus stands. I should also like to point out, that I am using the "E" -(or entry level) 1" thick MDF shelves and not the expensive constrained layer damping Z shelves. Although I have NOT done the comparison between E and Z shelves, two other people whose judgement I trust have doine so and report the E shelf to be more musical and less "audiophile" in nature.

Again, the feedback may be of limited value, because I am not testing out an all Naim system, but its the best I can do.
