does anyone know if there is a substance that will disolve SILICONE?

B&Q or the builders merchants will sell a chemical to dissolve it, however, if you want to remove an object which is stuck down with the stuff, try sliding some fine fishing line, a guitar string, or dental floss under the base of the object.
Dow Corning is a good brand to look for!

Screwfix sell a silicone sealant remover
p138 of the current catalogue, or part number17175-83, £2.39 for 100ml, or they also do a stuff made by Elch, 300ml for £7.99.
It does tend to make a bit of a mess, (or I did when I used it), & I resorted to a bit of patience & a sharp scalpel/stanley blade.

Suspect Al4n doesn't want to lift it quite that high.

Willy.

Don't forget to clean the surface afterwards with either White Spirit or Turps.

From Tarptent.com FAQ.
"An inexpensive product that works well is GE Silicone II clear sealer/glue. It is available as a squeeze tube in most US hardware stores or in the Tarptent Store. Set up the tent ouside in a in a well-ventilated location. Mix about a tablespoon of silicone with a couple of tablespoons of mineral spirits(paint thinner) and then apply the solution with a small foam brush. Add more mineral spirits if the solution gets too thick. Avoid skin contact and breathing fumes."
Good luck.

Surely that's a scheme to get women to upgrade their mammarian protruberances to spaceproof status? Is there such a thing as upgradeitis in that uh, there?
