Alphason Sonata Turntable

Hi
Has any other forum members heard or own this fantastic turntable. It has not been made for ten years now. My own Sonata was Alphason's demo deck.

Hi Colin,

I've had one for about ten years, used it for eight of them. It developed power supply and motor problems - which I will get round to fixing one day! Getting replacement belts seem to be difficult too.

I really like this deck (with Kuzma arm and Dynavector 20X cart), it has poise and a real sense of ease. It's not as fast as, say, a Roksan or a Rega 9 but it does play music beautifully.

Hi Bob
My Sonata has a Alphason HR100S Titanium tone arm and Sumiko Blue Point Special cart. I also had motor problems but was able to get new motors from Alphason (motors are the only spares they have). I found that Project belts fit. What colour is the spring adjusters and record clamp, mine are gold. I've only seen photos in black. Do you have a Atlas power supply.
