Occupations?

Hi All,
I was wondering the other day what sort of people us discerning (goes without saying) Naim enthusiasts are, and was curious to know what sort of jobs we did. Given the price of even second hand stuff (including olive and chrome bumper), we're collectively not short of a bob or two...
How about a poll of jobs? Apologies if this has been done before...
To kick things off, I'm an electronics engineer working in Defence (nothing sinister!). From London, but based in Washington DC (where the money is!) at the moment.

Chris - I got it from the public version of BluePages
I used to work for the company for a very long time.
I wonder if there are any of my detritus left round
Does the terms CWOG, Techline, SPC signify any thing to you.

All those helicopter pictures takes me back occupation? from draughtsman to Weapons engineer in navy (Sea Kings) to Student to Bar manager to Cisco engineer. One day I'll grow up and stick with a trade!
Happy New year

Derek
The last two are still in use. Not sure about the first though - seems a tad unPC for the current climate!

Chris I helped to set up the original systems for Techline and SPC - the CWOG was a way of requesting suppport from the two services.
It was not unPC if pronounced correctly
However I got a lot of stick in one country for the master and slave process that was used.
I got quite a bit of travel out of setting up the SPC.

Petrochemical / Industrial Piping Engineer,
Gives me great pleasure (especially on site) and also a sense of satisfaction, you get to see what you've built.
Justyn.

I think you will be safe in DC....unless the crab ( army slang for RAF) in the driving seat has got very lost- which is not unknown in my experience !

Crabs, Pongos and Wafoos on the forum - what is the world coming to?
I was in The Senior Service until a bad choice between (now) ex wife and career had me leave the Mob in 1987. Recently found out that buddy I joined up with is currently driving HMS Endurance, and another was the skipper of HMS Richmond until recently. Leaving may not have been one of my best decisions.
Since then I have worked in Bancassurance to keep the wolf from the door, recently changing from training and development to Compliance when I moved here with my current (and, so she informs me, my final) wife 5 years ago.

As Brad said, the number of forum members here that are/were in the armed forces is amazing!
There was a now-banned member here who used to be in the RAF too.
Cheers,
Jon

But the best part was snipering.
Alone for days and days with no one around but radio hum.
