With the impending arrival of the iPhone on Orange and Vodaphone(?), has anyone spotted any downward trends on prices?

The Orange tariffs seem to have come in virtually the same as O2, which I was surprised about...The only advantage would be that Orange have a much better 3G coverage across the UK....
So it's down to Vodafone to see if they drive the costs down...probably not !
Personally, I think you're better off buying the phone abroad, officially unlocked, and then getting a tariff here to suit you and bolting on how much data usage you want...
Steve.

Cartel springs to mind.
Check out the food prices at Bluewater etc all the stalls seem to charge the same.
They must all have the same financial advisers eh?

Apple do have a bit of a thing about total & absolute control over the pricing of their products - I suspect that Orange have little control over this.

Just read on the BBC site that Tesco will be offering iPhones - possibly before Christmas they say. This might stir things up! Guess I'll have to wait and see.

Apple can't control the tariffs and you only have to look at US prices for iPhones to see who is ripping who off! IMO of course!quote:Apple do have a bit of a thing about total & absolute control over the pricing of their products - I suspect that Orange have little control over this.

Can you imagine the build up latent demand in the Orange and Voda customer bases? I don't think you'll see pricing much different than O2 from those 2.
Tesco will be different. For them it's about growing into a new segment. Their plans will be cheaper but how much cheaper? Depends on what kind of data deal they can drive with their network operator.
