200 vs 250

Has anyone compared the new 200's to an olive series 250? Is it better or just different? Thanks.

I think it's more a question of personal taste more than anything else.
I've heard both. The 250 was very good. However, I just happen to prefer the sound of the newer style gear, and think that the 200 is a very special power amp. It's certainly on my hit list of "wants".

Why do you prefer the sound of the 200? I've heard both but not together. Have you had the chance to hear them side by side? I'm also inclined more toward the 200.

Any way to describe the specialness? Are these running through the NAC202?

If you want the new Naim sound, you would get more when you change to the new Naim source rather than the new power amp.

I have heard the CDX2 in my system(82/SC/250 all olive) and it gets me pretty close to the new Naim sound alright.

Turbo,

Firm recommendation for you. I tried the CDX2, CDS3 and XPS2 in the last few days against my CDX, and concluded that the one indispensible product was the XPS2. Add this to your CDX and you won't need another change for, oh, weeks.

Changing the CDX for the CDX2 - no point. But I loved the sound of the XPS2 with the CDX.
