IBL's in large room

Just thought that I would share my pleasant surprise.

After having recently moved to Holland I finally got round to setting up my IBL's properly at the weekend. My old listening room was fairly small, about 15 feet by 12 feet. The new room is about 30 feet by 15 feet, so much bigger than before.

Due to wife considerations the speakers have been located at one end of the room along the long wall.

So, the IBL's are in a room far larger than they were designed for, located with the left speaker 2 feet from a side wall, about 10 feet apart, with the right speaker about 15 feet from the other side wall, and the rest of the hi-fi is between the two speakers. Not what you would call a perfect setup.

Surprisingly enough, they sound awesome, far better than before. OK there are a few flaws, a definate balance towards the left hand speaker, the one nearest the side wall, some brightness but this is due to the room having laminate flooring and as yet very little furniture, so a bit of room dressing should sort this out nicely.

Considering all the stories about IBL's not liking big rooms I'm impressed. Any one else out there succesfully run IBL's in a room of this size or larger ?
