Dynaudio Contour 1.3 mk2 or 1.1 mk 2. Which might be better for me?

The listening area of my L shaped LR isd 12 x 13 feet. It opens at the back to a dining area. I can place the speakers 50" to 60" from the woofer to the wall behind them and about 6 feet apart . I dislike boomy bass. My room holds onto bass, but as I said I can place them well away from the wall behind. I used to have the Contour 1.8 mk 2 and loved them, but the bass boomed in my room almost everywhere. Which might be a better speaker for me. Thanks.

Hello
Dyn Contour 1.1 is a lovely little speaker and need very good kit. A friend of mine uses them on CDX/102/Hicap 140 and it sounds great. However Dyns aren't bass shy, ever. try epos or naim Intro2 (get ready to duck from half the audience).
Good luck

Master stands are discontinued. Has anyone heard the new Dynaudio "Stand2".
Thanks,
Jay

the 1.3mkii is a far better choice than the 1.1. The 1.3mkii is far inexpensive now since the new contour lineup is out.
If you want a bookshelf, consider the S1.4 or the Special 25. The S25 is damn expensive, but it is an amazing speaker. I have a pair on a 112/150/cd5/fc2 system and the sound is just amazing.
Anyway, get the 1.3mkii above the 1.1. Your room is plenty big. The boominess was most likely due to the speakers being close to the wall. You need a solid 12 inches away from the wall if you can afford the space.
my two cents.

Thanks James
I sold my sugnums not because of room boom per see but because they simply needad tp be spaced further apart than my room could accomodate. They needed between 7 and 8 feet at a minimum which brought me into serious side wall reflections even with area rugs on the walls and bookcases.
The major problem involved the Signum's need to be raked back in my room for optimum performace. Otherwise things got rather bright and soundstage dropped to the floor. The need for the rake angle and the effects on small adjustments in rake angle drive me crazy. Rake angle and toe-in got harder and harder to work with as I have been losing much of my eyesight this year. Its very hard trying to use a bubble level on the base plate of the SF stands when you are loosing much of your vision. Since the signums were not flat on top of the speakers, I could not measure from the top of the speaker.
I listened to the Ninkas 2 years ago in my home and was not that impressed. They needed to be placed faily close to the wall behind them and that is where my room narrows even more and the sound gets wierd. The further I get into the room (up to a point, the better the sound.
I tried spendor S3/5's too small in scale.
My dealer does not have any sealed box type speakers save for the Ninkas. Because of the increased dealer support, I am needing because of visual impairment, I did not want to go shopping around.
I am hoping that the Dynaudio 1.3 MKII Has reduced bass output relative to the 1.8's I am hoping they will be less problematic in the room.
Thanks for your concern and response. Had circumstances been otherwise, I could have been more flexable in choice.
