sbl 1 or new sbl2

ive been told by naim sbl `s are not getting repl
aced just limited finish options black & walnut only
sbl2 @ 4 to 5k
im thinking of replacing my old sbl with new ones has any one seen or heard the new ones been told they should be available by july

neil, afaik, sbl2 is not yet available. its being shown and played to the general public at the bristol show this weekend. i am also interested in sblII -- have been for quite some long time.

fred, afaik, the sblII is a completely NEW speaker. its not a retrofittable upgrade to the sbl mk 1.

wait for photos to start trickling from bristol tomorrow. i cant wait!!!

Since it appears that these new speakers will cost considerably more than SBLs, where did the suggestion that they are SBL replacements come from, or indeed the term 'SBL2'.

Ade the design principals and the fact the SBL1 is stopping production is probably why they are calling it SBL2 thats 'Seperate Box Loudspeaker' apparently.

Paul Stephenson was at pains to point out that the SL2 is not a replacement for the SBL but an extension of its design. From 2.5k to 5k is now what the 2 was therefor smile

But as I own SBL's and listened to the SL2's today, if you've got 5k then get the SL2's.
