Naim frame

After 5 days of running with the naim frame, I can give my verdict.
One word review "mind blowing". How can it make that much difference?
I tried a Mana before and basically thought it ruined the sound but with the Frame you just have more of everything, Superb.
One of the best upgrades you can get on a "high end system" for £1900.(as a side note it is also beautifully made and easy to errect- you honestly can see why it cost so much).

Bosh
Why use 'baaaaa'?
It seems like RICHYH opinions were based upon his evaluation, not his speculation.

"why use baaaa?"
The mere presence here indicates we are all sheep.
PS does my use of Fraim deny me the right to try Mana soundbases for my SBLs?

I've been doing just that for about a month now. Sounds absolutely stunning and very, very musical.
So far I've not had any killer squads round my house, but I sometimes get the feeling I'm being followed. Then there's that weird old lady who keeps staring at my windows from across the street. The strange phone calls in the middle of the night. Files disappearing from my hard drive and, wait ... what's that noise at the door, I think someone's

"Of course, 'mind blowing' is two words!"
Only because he left out the hyphen:
"Mind-blowing"

I have been slowly but surely getting rid of all my Mana. First the Soundbases, and the bass improved and the top end got less bright, then the amp rack which had the same results...

Dev,
I have too little experience of Mana under electronics, but I can see how you've arrived at that conclusion with the SBLs. They certainly do something drastic to the entire frequency range, but in my case it hasn't been disastrous, it was just a matter of accustomizing. I may be wrong, but I think your mains (and setup) needs to be top notch to put Mana under speakers as accurate as SBLs -- having lived in London for three years I would guess that "good mains" is a rare commodity ...
BTW, I shall be in London soon -- I'll send you an email when I know the dates.

I would love a Fraim, but the cost! I currently have a shelf for each piece of equipment - is this really necessary for the power supplies and the 135's, or can they be stacked?

...last night I added a ball-nutter/glass arrangement between my Nait 5 and FlatCap 2 (so the FC2 now sits on glass rather than directly on the Nait) and...
...SHEESH!!! Wadda difference!!!
Voices and pianos in the room, new instruments in the mix, shhhhhh sounds resolved into cymbals and such, and vocals that used to be masked by other instruments are now clearly audible (as are the other instruments).

So if I needed 6 shelves, could I stack a Fraim this high or would I need 2no.3 shelf jobbies?
Posted on: 11 July 2003 by RICHYH
Iam told you can stack 6 standard shelves on top of one another.
