trying to be a somebody part 2

Thanks for all your advice on my last post.
I went to my local Naim Dealer on friday and listened to the new Naim Kit...
1. We listened to the exact setup I have at home at present; a Linn Classik and B&W CM2 Speakers, sounded great I thought...
2. Next up was the CD5/Nait5 combination through the same speakers. From about 10 seconds into the first track I knew I couldn't go back to the classik, no surprises there!
3. I found myself uttering the word's 'can we hear the CDX2' and waited... the change was just staggering, something I can only describe as 'magical' came through my humble CM2's. I can't really fill do it justice in 'hifi' terms, let's just say it all got very exciting and I was left muttering 'I've got to have a CDX, I've got to have a CDX'
4. We then replaced the nait5 with the 112/150 combo and I had to work very hard to hear any difference. Maybe my ears aren't as trained as some people's, don't know, don't care!
5. He offered to plug in the optional power supply to boost the performance of the CDX further but my heart and bank account had had enough excitement for one day.
From this little experience I draw the following conclusions:
I now understand just what you guys are raving about on this site when you say 'listen to the music not the Hifi'
I am now somewhat besotted with Naim Hifi.
I am a convert to the 'spend a large slice of your budget on the source' argument.
I have to get a CDX, I have to get a CDX...
However the CDX2 apparently costs 2,600 GBP new, which with the Nait5 is beginning to stretch my budget a little so I wondered if you guys could give me a little advice. I've not heard the 'old' green case CDX, I was wondering if there was much of a difference in performance between the CDX and the new CDX2? This may help me to make up my mind whether to go secondhand or jump in and pay top dollar for the new kit.
thanks
Nick
