I am seriously considering the NAC112/NAP150 with a stageline for my Gyrodec (and probably a Dynavector 20x).
Firstly, does the stageline use BNC or phonos?
Secondly would I be much better off spending the extra on a Tom Evans Microgroove (the £399 model), a Trichord/Michell Dino, or one of the other rivals at this price, bearing in mind I would have to wait longer to save the cash?

The Stageline comes with RCAs by default. It can be ordered with BNCs at a £20 premium.
Seriously consider getting the Tom Evans. It's superior to the Stageline and can be upgraded to MicroGroove+ which is very very good indeed. You can order the Tom Evans products with BNC connectors with no surcharge.
The MicroGroove would be well worth the wait.

Frank.

I'll be honest and say that I haven't really tried all the options, just the more basic NAPSC, 112 and Nait5 ones. I'll try them tomorrow.
Please note: You should be aware that the Tom Evans has a different presentation to the Naim and so it's still worth demoing the two against each other.

Frank.

I think the whole phono stage thing is quite interesting but Naim are so beholden to the Linn Sondek LP12 that they ignore this. Why isnt there a "prefix in a box" for example? The Naim phono boards appear to be stupendous (as long as you pull them out before playing CDs) so there is no reason to think they couldn't make the worlds greatest Phono stage. Ofcourse it would likely cost an arm and a leg to punish the LP12 non-believers.
Oh and probably much less important than surround sound
I bet that Stageline/Hi-Cap blows the pants off a Groove.
