MAC question

I seem to have an icon for iTunes on my desktop and in the dashboard. I'm not sure how this has happened, how do I get rid of the desktop one?

Howard,
have you created an alias? If you do Get Info (Apple + i) you can see, it will tell under Kind whether it is Application or Alias. If Application then you need to drag it back into your Applications folder, if Alias you should just be able to move it to trash. Also, if an alias it should have a curly arrow in the bottom left corner. Don't delete anything until you are sure that you have a functioning version of iTunes in your Applications folder.

OK there was no curly arrow so I dropped it back into applications and it has gone. iTunes still works.

It's these little nuances that I find sort of frustrating.

Like saving stuff and not knowing where it has gone, later finding it all in Firefox D/Ls not the D/L stack on the dashboard.

All part of the fun I guess? Smile

Thanks Huw.

I can recommend that you buy one of the Apple Training courses. They cost £79.00 and you can book up to 52 hour long 1-2-1 sessions at an apple store and receive training on any aspect of any apple product. it has to be the most cost effective training that can be bought anywhere.

I've just returned to the Library the changing to MAC Missing Manual and have wondered whether to get another copy or indeed that book you have mentioned.

Hi Kenny (and other Mac users),

I'm on the brink of buying an iMac. There appears to be a good selection of 'Teach Yourself Leopard' books out there.

Presumably you recommend this one?
