Picked up Minimum / Maximum on lovely vinyl at the weekend. Four albums at 33rpm, heavy pressings and really nice packaging.

Recording quality is great with huge amounts of deep bass. Crowd noise is kept low and is only really evident inbetween tracks. Over two hours of classics, some reinterpreted in really interesting ways.

Highly recommended. A must have for fans and a great 'best of' for those less familiar.

Great stuff. I'm treating myself to the CD immediately.

After a more in depth listen I think it necessary to correct my earlier posting. Crowd noise is present during tracks and the album rightly has a live sound. If you are seeking the last ounce of polish then you may be dissapointed but the recording does attempt to convey the power with which they come across live.

As regards to the listing, there is an emphasis on last years tour de France album but there is still lots of room for the classics.

I loved seeing them at Brixton and it is nice to have one of the tracks on the album recorded at that gig.

Top banana I must say......

CD1 sticks to the originals whereas CD2 seems to let loose with some experimenting ......... "Musique Non-Stop" and "Radio-Activity" definitely benefitting.

Thoroughly recommended..... and I think the quality is excellent too.

The most expensive I have seen the vinyl version is £40.00.

Can anyone beat that?

I’ve been working on a project this week on site. So while I was delighted to hear the CD had arrived on Tuesday it wasn’t until yesterday that I managed to get my ears on it. It’s very refreshing to hear a live album with real scale, presence and depth, not to mention crystal clear sound – a ‘you were there’ experience. It makes the last live recording I bought sound even more crap than I knew it was already (Rush in Rio).

I don’t prefer all of the live arrangements to the originals but I’m glad to have them. It’s boring otherwise. I can’t find anything to fault on this album – highly recommended to fans (who am I kidding – you’ve all bought it already!) and anyone curious about one of the few bands in any genre who were a good 10 years ahead of their time.

I bought it on vinyl (£33, Mr Slater).

Love the packaging, fantastic sound quality too. Some of the material is deeply pointless (TDF 2003 and 1983, Planet of Visions, Model, Radioactivity). Some of it is an improvement on the originals (Vitamin, Aero Dynamik, Elektro Kardiogramm), the rest of it is a superb reworking of the sstudio versions.

As a greatest hits set it knocks The Mix into a cocked hat.

Kevin, You overpaid by £3.01!

You and The Mix! Perhaps you need to be locked into a room with it on autorepeat for a day, perhaps you might come to like it!

I still like the Metal on Metal / Abzug transition from the Mix more than all of the recent outings. (this statement excludes Min-Max, which I haven't had time to listen to yet)

Just got the live album today...

Wow, if ever there was a justification for DBLs this is it!

Brings me right back to being a strange thirteen year old buying Autobahn for the first time - an LP that changed my life...

Cheers all
