from the '70s with his "Chicken Skin Band"?
It was BBC4 last week, might be repeated or available on the iPlayer. A rare treat with some superb slide playing by a master.

Ry Cooder was in a Magic Band, but he left - what a mistake to make?
Oh well I guess he felt that playing in such company was not quite As Safe As Milk.
It followed the Latin stuff - I missed it because I fell asleep: guess I'm no Latino.
I did record the Cooder though - it 'twas OGWT. Haven't listened to it yet, but I will ....

So did I, can't believe how the time has gone but there we are.
Ewen, do you remember him doing a superb "Vigilante Man" in one of the earlier OGWTs?

It's the band that made the Showtime album in 1976 - long been one of my favourites. He looked very energised and rocking in this period. Saw him play solo in 1979 - superb of course.
I seem to like some of the RC albums that no-one else does (including RC) - e.g. Jazz. Always loved the sound of that on vinyl. Ho hum.

That was indeed a superb version of 'Vigilante Man' Joe. I believe it might be included on one of the comilation OGWT DVDs released by the BBC.
There was a superb OGWT in concert performance by the Ry Cooder Band around 1983. I recall that the band included Jim Keltner and material wqas drawn largely from 'Bop Til You Drop' and 'Borderline'.

Have you got the John Lee Hooker and friends dvd?
