Trying to upgrade my source . Was looking at a cd5 now not sure . Have a Musical Fidelity A3CD , would a DAC like a MF A3/24 192 DAC or soon to be seen TRIVISTA DAC be a 1. Smart ,cost vs. improvement wise. or 2. A CD5/FLATCAP. Anyone else done the DAC path ? Or am i barking up the wrong tree?
Any views?

I'd suggest that you worry less about the technology and more about what kind of sound you want from your system.
Naim don't make DACs, although I guess you could use an AV2 as one.
That means you're looking at either the Naim CDP or a DAC of a completely different brand, e.g. TAG, MF, Chord. All of the DAC brands I know of will have a different "sonic signature" to a Naim CDP. So make the choice based on how you prefer it to sound.
