Paging Steve Toy and all you rack pros..
Posted by: andy c on 07 December 2003
Hi,
Just putting me Mana back together (5 shelf amp rack on soundbase)later and need to know which order the kit goes in for best:
Top to bottom:
Linn TT (obviously!)
CXD2?
102 pre?
hi-cap/Napsc?
180.
I can use the base if need be but would think better off keeping stuff on the rack itself..
ta for any suggestions (other than swapping the Mana!)

Hi Alex,
Long time no gag LOL!
Nope not had chance yet to do the rack thing - have just put the mains in so thought I'd wait 3 months or so before doing the comparison.
Am still keen on the 282/XPS2 upgrade but may well have to borrow again from the dealer now the mains may well have changed.
regards,

I was just about to ask a similiar question.
Currently have the following on Hutter in this order:
CDX2
202
200
HI-CAP
(Also - NAPSC, AV2, 150 and 175 but kept separate)
I have just ordered an XPS2 (and a further element for the Hutter). What is the best spot to put the XPS2 in. Before I get anyone telling me to buy another Hutter Base, space constraints will not allow this at the moment!
Nick.

Andy,
You need a space of at least four inches between your brain and brawn components. Mana is a tricky one because you don't want to leave an empty shelf that will resonate without the deadening quality of a box upon it.
I'm not terribly good at optimising kit on Mana racks so I'll bow out on this one.

Regards,
Steve.

Steve,
Appreciate your honesty on this one and can see you point re the 4".
I do intend to get the brains/brawn spilt next year - hence the comments you may have seen elsewhere by me re Fraim v Mana...
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
