Who is Mick Parry?
Posted by: silklee on 11 October 2002
I am relatively new to the forum but one name that keeps appearing is that of Mr Mick Parry?
Just very curious as to who is he? A dealer?Someone related to the Naim Audio? Someone recognised as the 'guru' of Naim? A designer of a certain naim product?
Why are there so many posts that are directed to him? Would someone care to enlighten?

If the dreary "Swindon Lot" at Wernham Hogg weren't enough to convince you this week's Popbitch has conclusive proof that Swindon is not fit to be home to a man of Mick's stature.
Certainly I can't imagine Mick would be fobbed of with imitation drugs.

>> Beyond a Foke <<
The pathos of Britain in 2002
Throughout the 90s, British youth celebrated
drug culture in a way that made the 60s look
like a few sad hippies discovering spliff.
But now the New Wave of Drugs has washed up on
a sad seashore of dodgy dealers and shite coke.
The new drugs craze in the West of England
- Bristol Bath and Swindon particularly - is "foke", or fake coke.
It has no effect at all, but sad losers are
buying it purely for the "glamour" of chopping
out lines and sniffing them.
Foke costs £5 a gram. Local dealers say they
sell out of supplies every night.

The plot thinnens........

Mick Parry and Mrs P are in Africa on their Hols..... I also like Mr P he's generous with his invites and deliciously opinionated....... may not agree with him but the world is full of too many like the Paul Whitehouse character from the Fast Show

Sorry Mick. Both the quotations are Sir Henry's. My real favourite of his is:-
"If I had all the money, I've spent on drink; I'd spend it on drink".

mine too. closely by " I don't know what I want but I want it NOW." Too many others to mention; even the characters are a delight - eg. Old Scrotum, the wrinkled retainer... the album is a multi layered feast of English delivered in tones of velvet covered chocolate. The early passing of Vivian Stanshall was such a loss.
BTW I was invited down to Parry Acres recently and could not resist the temptation to take ( and lend ) Mick my copy of "Sir Henry at Rawlinson End."
A very great work.
