have ordered a x-box 360 for my boy, when i get him a small hd capable lcd set, how do you out-put sound from the x-box to the screen, i know i need component for the picture or vga, not sure about sound connections, is there anything input wise i need to have on the hd lcd set.

John,

The standard output cable supplied with the Xbox has connections at the TV end for component video, composite video and L/R analog stereo. You would need to ensure therefore that the LCD set has a pair of phono sockets for left/right audio input.

cheers alan, was looking at the sony 20" bravia can't see anywhere it says about left and right audio input,

correction, it says on the sony site, rca audio input, just waiting for the price to drop a bit, £450 seems a lot for a 20" screen.

neil, i looked at the samsumg, looks good for the money, trouble is boys room is quite small, hence the 20" sony.

The HD Video connector also has an optical output if your Xbox is anywhere near an amp.
