Fireproof

Hi all;

Instead of putting this in the "what DVD have you just watched", I decided to give it a separate thread. I feel an interesting discussion might come out of this. I watched this movie 3 days back.

This was a movie with a strong Christian theme, acting that is mediocre at best and a scenario that comes off cheesy at times. Still, I enjoyed it immensely. I found the movie to touch on some core values and use a very romantic story to convey the message without "preaching" in an obvious manner. The best acting comes from the lead male followed by the lead female. Despite the shortcomings of the movie, the film develops the characters in a perfect way and within 15 minutes, you start to really care and worry for them.

It may not appeal to all but it is surely worth watching. have SWMBO watch the movie with you. You may be surprised by how much she is enjoying it Smile.

You don't make it sound exactly compulsive viewing Flame! Big Grin

Still, does sound like the sort of film SWMBO would like.

I have to be honest to my forum friends Big Grin Can't go around saying lies to them! Truth is, I had no clue what the movie was. I was requested to see it by my significant other. What I wanted to say is that this is a very very good movie despite some flaws. It proves that a good story equals a good movie. How many times have we seen an all star cast perform the most boring movie in the world? This is the opposite of that Smile

FireProof! The movie!

My wife and I are Christians, and we loved the movie. One thing that was outstanding was the honesty of human fallacy and human emotion. So many Christian movies- rather, almost ALL Christian movies- come across as being stiff, void of true emotion, overly pious,and very unlike real life. I can see why unbelievers don't feel understood or connect to the messages in those movies. Fireproof did great in showing that imperfect humans can be restored to God, and though still imperfect, we have life within us. It had real, raw emotion, and honest portrayal of issues people face in the real world.
Every woman wants to be loved like the woman in Fireproof; if you're getting married, you'd do well to watch the movie often. Smile Best wishes to you, by the way.
