Good solid guitarist. Great live act. My personal favourites are Hand Jive and Bump. They're more funky than most of his stuff. Also liked his playing with Miles Davis.
Saw him live in Atlantic City and he was amazing. I'd say he's worth going to see

I saw Scofield last year in London with his (very young) Uberjam band. They were fantastic.

The first act were the Mondesir Bros. and they were great. Funky, but challengingly inventive. I thought that Socfield had probably made a mistake by having such great musicians 'warm up' for him.

No way! They kicked ass in a very big way.

So ...

Up all night
A Go Go (with Martin, Medeski and Wood)
Quiet
Hand Jive

... are the ones I tend to play most.

GO AND SEE HIM in any setting, any line up!

so i went there and it was quite good - really liked it!

the band was playing in an old church (built by Schinkel) and the whole atmopsphere was really relaxed.

they were starting with some classical trio music and were then playing a nice version of "amazing grace" (because of the church i think). later budo and then it got steve reichian, later vey jimi hendrixian.

schloss neuhardenberg looks like this:
