I spotted a R3 deck online going cheap, I would expect its sold by now but was wondering...
Do the R2 and R3 only work with RB250 and RB300 arms or is it possible to use other arms, and would this be a pain in the arse.
Thankyou muchly.

Hi garyi:
It's a PITA because the Regas are normally drilled for Rega arms (naturally), other arm manufacturers rarely use the same diameter mounting holes and then you have to consider if the arm you want to use has the same effective length as the Regas, - otherwise you may have cartridge alignment problems. Personally, I wouldn't change arms.

Thanks Mark, only this one for sale is sans arm, so I was just wondering, I'll probably wack the 250 on for now, supposing its still for sale that is.

IIRC the Rega arms are slightly longer than Linn standard, which makes adapting a deck drilled for Rega tricky.
It's easy on an LP12, armboards are relatively cheap. Somewhere I have one of the first 100 RB300s on a Linn board.

Why does everyone have better deck arms knocking around than me?
