A really great guy, I got to hang with him in NYC a couple of months ago when he was playing at the Blue Note with David Sanborn.
An amazing, monster musician and a genuinely nice person. I got to hear lots of stories, he's played with most of the jazz greats all over the world.
He will be missed.

I would say that I loved his stuff with Weather Report and John MacLaughlin but I love pretty much anything they did anyway. Anyone who was good enough to play with then had to be a pretty awesome musician. I think maybe Don slipped under the radar a bit over the last few years because not so much good music has been produced by those sorts of people lately. A real shame because he was an incredible musician.

His playing at the Blue Note with Sandborn was brilliant.
Sanborn can get anyone he wants, Don had been a regular in his line up for some time.
