cinema systems
i think they proof over the years their
resistance from mass market demands as well as
no compromise design abilities. what happend?

Films from dvd with dolby digital/dts 5 channel sound really adds to the viewing and listening experience.

Naim understand this and have applied their expertise to make AV products which allow for this enjoyment WITHOUT any dilution of the two channel approach towards MUSIC making.

I believe they see the difference between music and films. These new products are in addition to existing electronics, not the replacement of.

Is it wrong to wish for better-quality film and video sound if it can be done to a particular (high) standard?

And, might I remind you that the AV1 was introduced over six years ago--this is not a new enterprise.

Every product is a design challenge, to extract the best performance above a specified threshold of quality, weighed against a prospective product's cost (e.g., the NAITs)--and unless you've had the opportunity to hear the preset tuner (I have one at home), AV2, or multi-room amplifier, perhaps it's your conservatism that's being challenged...
