I was watching the race live and thought the driver must be dead but thankfully he got away with a broken leg.
The other thing that crossed my mind was how lucky the other driver in the car underneath was not to lose his head.
Incredible escapes indeed.

Yes but it made for an exciting finish though.

As well as the multiple leg fractures, he has a compression fracture in his back.
Still, if I crashed at 200mph I'd be happy with that.
It seems that the car he hit was stuttering while running out of fuel. Makes a mockery of all the advances in car tech and safety in my opinion.

Agreed Tony but the way i look at it is that its a dangerous sport and accidents WILL happen no matter what.
The guys alive and thats a bonus.
