Hurrah for the great British sausage

In case you hadn't noticed, it's British Sausage Week. How are YOU going to celebrate? (If you can be bothered.)

David,
I'm going to celebrate with a Cumberland sausage (that I put fresh sage and garlic in the space created by the roll) - some mustard mash and onion gravey

I'd just like to point out that Sweden doesn't do sausages in the British sense. The most common indigenous banger is the Falukorv (Sausage from Falun) which has its origins in the copper mines of Falun. Even dead horses have their uses...
In case you want to know, falukorv is like a less coarse spam in a skin. Yummm. Apparently it cannot have more (!!!) than 30% meat content. Leaving 70% of 'filler.' Dubble yummm.

Just like here in New Zealand...
No wonder tomato sauce is so popular.

I seem to remember that there was an episode in the "Yes Minister" TV series where the Brittish sausage was threatened by the EC.
About the "Falukorv" sausage. It has to have a certain content of ingredients to be allowed the name "Falukorv", otherwise it's sold under names like "stekkorv" (frying sausage). I seldom eat it, btw.

Know them well. O'Hagan used to live opposite us in Southbourne, West Sussex. There's a pub down the road (The Sussex Brewery in Emsworth) that specialises in O'Hagan's sausages on their menu. I'm going there for a meal tonight - what shall I have?!

Steak in the end! I was tempted to have one of their sausage dishes until I discovered that they no longer serve them with baked beans.

Ah yes. The Eurocrats wanted to rename the British banger as "The Emulsified High Fat Offal Tube". Still sounds better than this Falukorv!. Hacker won the day ...
