we use media to find out abut stuff - u use it when u surf the web, watch the tv - you are at the mercy of the reporter and the 'facts' relayed, are you not?

Fritz,

I wasn't aware that any public money was being used for the new Wembley - unless they've got some Lottery funding??

(I thought the finance package had been put in place by a German company, in the spirit of EU integration and such things.....)

I know that the the Millenium Stadium management would be delighted to have another crack at the FA Cup final, as the original contract with the FA was negotiated by WRU committe men and the stadium didn't really make any money on it. Any opportunity to actually make some cash would be manna from heaven.

Î think it's likely that the Cup Final will be played again in Welsh Wales, certainly in the taking no risks with the Public aspect (No not the Police side, Andy), and London's wrecking of irreplaceable Public Common land for the unwanted Olympics, will also be so funded, as are schools, hospitals, the NHS, etc, etc, Now so financed, there is simply no competition allowed from Brown under PFI, which is slowly destroying the economy right in front of you all. This will be Blairs real legacy! How he bankrupted Britain through endless-unlimited taypayers credit to crony's, Even the Thatcher wit relating to Marks & Spencers, rather than Marx & Engles, has backfired as this successful True Blue flagship firm, has been sciving off paying tax in the UK for nearly a Decade now, and all with the Chancellors conivance, not to mention selling/stripping off Publically owned land & assets (Customs, etc) to far away tax exile, lands, sorry to bore you old Chap, the beautiful game is so complicated these days, innit?*

Concerned, Fritz*

I'm impressed, (if it's true).

No wonder working as a white-van driver has become so popular.

I know at least one who became a policeman, many cases and borderline cases work as bouncers/doormen, some end up selling drugs and/or become alcoholics, a great many end up on the streets.

The last thing a platoon commander needs is someone who is unreliable who will endanger the lives of the other platoon members - the merely incompetant are weeded out either by being slung out officially or bullied out (unofficially) by their fellows and the psychopathic are slung out because they dont mix well, dont accept orders well, and are the most likely candidates to harm themselves or their mates and in stressful situations may not be above putting a round throught their own platoon commanders head!! Their traits are well known and very few slip through basic training (most notably in the paras)but I doubt many get far - they are after all their own worst enemies.

I must have met 99% of all the ones that did ease through then, Our Eric?*

Cheers,

Aaaaacid head Fritz* (You could make a mint on the telly John)

I don't do shrewd. It's no fun.

This Mohammed thing is a serious business though! The arab world is ..er..up in arms.

Made worse by a stirrer with some rather more imaginative pictures that never existed (allegedly).

Press freedom (ironically) is not their strong point "over there".

Yes! You're probably right Our Nime, Tony maybe shouldn't have stopped Chicken George bombing the Al-Jazeera building afterall! wether they're BBC trained or not. The good news is, a brand new Arab TV Service (in English will soon be coming out, run by the Yanks for the region), so they'll get to the their truth allright, innit*

Was sat in the doctors earlier, and passing some time thought I'd read a tabloid to see how the 'real' world is faring... read one of the so called 'better' papers - with a jurno banging on about how the fuzz just want to do middle class folk and motorists - If thats their view of reality I'll go buy a diff paper. Also interesting was the Met chief apologising for mileading releases re the tragic shooting of the brazillian national last year - that got one paragraph - the slagging off got a whole page.

Still, we don't buy newspspers for the truth, do we?

Fritz - i rest me samsonite me old mucca!

Andy Old Son, I actually stopped buying 'newspapers' 'of all kinds & languages' over 25 years back, saved a fortune, so I could buy more fags, etc, innit*
