hi all,
wonder if any of you could help with this querie?
thinking of buying dave gilmours new album at 101cd.com but have no idea what the yen / pound rate is ??
they are selling at 1,990 yen delivered. any idea how much that converts approx to g.b.£
u.s. version is $13.49 which is reasonable.
if i had to guess id say around £25.??
does anyone use this site for imports , if so are they reliable and are there any other good sites to visit??
i generally use: tower.com and djangos BUT both havent got the new gilmour album.
thanks for any feedback.
regards, scotty

Hi Dave;

I've just used HMV Japan for a copy of Jose Gonzalez' - 'Veneer'. As usual, it pisses on the EU made crap. It cost under £20, and got from Japan to me in four days.

Bloody incredible.

I use this web-site to calculate foreign currency conversions. Just click on 'Currency Calculator' top left, select the relevant currencies, and enter the amount.

Happy listening.

John.

Hi Scotty!
Is there a difference between the english and the japanese site of 101.com?
Posted on: 30 January 2006 by scottyhammer
hi gianluigi,
well its not a question of the difference in sites but more of the difference in sounds from japanese pressings which are brilliant compared with european. u.s. pressings are also good but if you want the ultimate then buy japanese.
i wouldnt have believed it had i not heard the comparison demo at j.n.s (john) house!!
now i try to buy jap pressings or at least american pressings even though they are more expensive (jap). american are about the same as europe. try buying your most favourite cd from
japan and see for yourself.
what have you to lose ?
