Hi!
I know there are a lot of people that have two hobbies; bicycles and hifi.
So, post a picture of your bicycle.
I'll start:
Next upgrade, Brooks Swallow.

The most reasonable saddle I ever sat on [apart from on a horse, which is different], was on my old Royal Enfield
It would suit the most rotund backside, and mine felt supported as by a comfy arm-chair!
Fredrik
PS: I hate those lift and separaye saddles on pushbikes, and surely they cannot be good for the survival of the the blood flow to those...

If my memory serves me correctly, Pashley is the official supplier of two wheeled cycles to the Post Office. Can anyone confirm this?
Very well made they are too!
But you never hear a postman say "some f**cker has nicked me bike" well, not round my part of the world anyhow.

Here's a pic of my fairly new Specialized Rockhopper. Now looking slightly more 'used' than in that pic...!

They don't look good for long, when used for their intended purpose.
You'd be surprised at just how many people, who put them on a cycle carrier for the sheer benefit of looking cool in the Lakes!

What model of WTB tire do you have on the rear of your sweet looking GT?

Jim - WTB Enduro Raptor 47/54K, same as the front....
Why....did you notice it's pointing the wrong way too!
Just got the bike back from a service (I really didn't fancy taking the i-drive to bits!!) and noticed they've put the rear tyre on the wrong way round.....
Nevermind it's easily sorted.
Cheers,
Ali

Hi All
A bit late to this one, I don't usually enter the padded cell. These are my bikes as of a couple of years ago. The only thing that has changed is that the Giant now has the wheels from the Marin, and the Marin now has some new Mavics laced to Hope hubs with nice shiny S/S spokes. Oh and, new bars and a shorter stem.
I wish I had cheap hobbies!

Hi,
firstly, my new solo, so new in fact that when the picture was taken I had not ridden it, or cut the steerer. The bike is a Mercian 853 Professional with Dura Ace and XTR groupset, the wheels are Mavic 729's on XT hubs, I am currently trying to decide which lightweight wheels to go for.
This one is slightly more unusual, a 1984 Mercian Supertourist Tandem. Classic 531 frame, but recently rebuilt with XTR / Durace on the shimano side, middleburn tandem chainset etc.
I will try and find a photo of my mountain bike, Marin Indian Fire trail somewhat upgraded.

Trust me - they're not great in that department, but peanuts (mild pun!) in comparison to what it feels like at 11 y/o to hit the wrong brake on an unfamiliar bike and NOT go over the handlebars - landing on the crossbar instead. Good job I don't want kids - I'm not sure I'm physically capable!
Hey - if anyone can tell me which direction (clockwise/anticlockwise) I need to twist the rear cable derailer cable adjuster on my bike to stop it taking a little longer than it should to shift down gears, I'd love to know - had the thing serviced recently, with a new cable, and the s0dding thing's driving me mad!

Slow shifting from larger to smaller sprockets could be a sign of tight cable tension so turn the barrel adjuster clockwise.
If it is a shimano try this:
1. Shift chain to middle ring in front and innermost sprocket in back.
2. Pedal and shift lever one position.
3. Pedal and turn barrel adjuster counter-clockwise to tighten inner wire tension until chain begins to shift outward.
4. Turn barrel adjuster clockwise 1/4 turn until chain runs smoothly on second cog.
5. Shift outward one sprocket at a time trying each gear. Turn barrel adjuster 1/4 turn clockwise if too tight symptoms occur.
6. Shift to all other normal gear combinations and test adjustment.
