I know there are a lot of people that have two hobbies; bicycles and hifi.

So, post a picture of your bicycle.

Here's the latest edition to my fleet. It's going to be my general hack/shopping/commuting/touring bike:

and

thanks for the nice bike comment.
3 years ago I upgraded the Hi-Fi and this year it was the bike.
I best take the lady and kids away on a nice holiday next year.
I need a new car but I cant justify more than £1 spent on the bloody thing.

Bontager Race Lite Hardcase if I'm not mistaken. Great tyres. Had mine for 2 years with zero flats (and I do ride a lot!) Enjoy the ride.

Curious. When will most bike companies release their 2007 models? October 2006?

Don´t kvow exactly. In the store where I work, we got Cannondale "Dealers Handbook" 3 weeks ago. All models are here. The first bikes (Exept the System Six) will arrive our shop in the beginning of October.

November is the normal release-month for next year bikes, I guess...

Christian

Thanks for your reply. I am replacing my bike after it was stolen from me in June. I'd like to wait until the 2007 models are out but the insurance comany wants to hurry up and settle the claim. I'll see if they can hold on until November then.

Thanks again
Jim

The sales are starting now so this isn't a bad time to be shopping for a new bike.

Did my first 50+ mile ride for many a year this weekend, using the newly built Inbred - I saw one very odd bike on the way:

On-One makes nice bikes.

Had a Inbred (steel) before my current ride. Great in technical terrain, but a little flexible around the bottombracket.

That fork is superstiff, but quite cheap. You can get a Pace fork or maybe a Vicious-cycles fork. They add a little flex to the front end.

Great colour BTW.

Christian - I just built the Inbred up last weekend as a hack & commuter bike but I'll also probably be using it as a tourer. I did think about the Pace RC31's but I wanted to keep the cost down so SWMBO wouldn't complain so much about a 4th bike being added to my little fleet! For the road the Inbred forks are just about perfect though.

This is the 2nd Inbred I've owned - the first was set-up as a mountain bike:

I liked it but part-exchanged the frame for a Cotic Soul which I still use:

New forks fitted last week, RS recons, thats it!!, for now anyway Regs G.

Steve - Guess that Cotoc is a step up from the Inbred. Saw one here in Oslo a few weeks ago, and it is truly a really nice ride.

Why are you using Avid mechanic brakes and not hydraulics (spelling is hard..) in those muddy conditions you are facing?

I think I will try some Avid machanics some day...

Oh yeah, riding in night is superfun. Smile

I have hydro's (Hope Mini's) on one of my other bikes:

but I actually prefer the Avids. They seem just as powerful as the hydros and with decent levers (XT on my Cotic) they also have good modulation. They are also much easier to fit and maintain, especially through the nasty winters we get here. My Epic had Avid mechanicals before the Hope hydros so I can directly compare them on the same bike and I much prefered the Avids.

I was in Oslo a month or so back - I didn't have any of my bikes with me but it seemed quite cycling friendly.

Built for comfort rather than speed.
