A Lavry and a Mini toslink to toslink and a Mark Grant or Flashback xlr to 5 pin din interconnect, £700, £20 and £20.

Mat,
DA-10 or 11?
If you order direct from Lavry you can request for them to choose the "pin hot" configuration that you want and it will be shipped that way. Also they will provide you with a neutrix xlr/rca connector for about $12 which is nice if you already have a rca-->Din connector or use an rca/rca on your Naim. If not then you need the xlr-->din as mentioned above.
Remember they have a 30 day money back guaranee less shipping if ou don't like the way it sounds. So it costs only a few buck to demo out.

For best results, you should also set the Lavry DA10 to unbalanced pin 2 hot and use it in crystal lock mode and with phase inversion.
With the new DA11, you may use a USB cable in lieu of the Mini Toslink to Toslink cable. In addition, it will apparently be possible to set up unbalanced pin 2 hot from the front panel, making it a little easier than with the DA10. Finally, I may be wrong on this, but the choice of lock mode is apparently not available with the DA11, thus removing the need to make any changes where this is concerned.
Under iTunes preferences, use the Apple Lossless Encoder with error correction for importing (ripping) CDs and deselect the Sound Enhancer, Crossfade Songs and Sound Check playback options and you should be all set.
Enjoy.

I thought he was being helpful, Gary1 was just adding another fact to the other facts he gave. What is wromg in pointing out you can return the product if you don't like it, Mat may find that is great for what he wants which it to give the Lavry a try, plus he can do this with no financial risk involved - whats your problem ?
Jeez, you're too sensitive will you just get over it and stop whining.
IMHO

Barrie, it will never stop as every post concerning the Lavry is taken as having an ulterior motive.
I wouldn't have demoed the Lavry if it didn't have a MBG on it as I don't know anyone that has one and I wasn't about to take a punt and then wind up having to sell it on audiogon or whatever. That might be fine for others, but that's not the way I do things.

I also have a MacBook Pro into Nait 3, but through a Beresford. In addition to what was posted about settings in iTunes preferences, set the output bit-rate to 24 bits in the Audio-Midi window when you select the output device (Lavry) in order to get perfect 16 bit.
This has been posted before, some kind of not so well kept Mac secret that an engineer leaked or something. Also, I have read that an optical cable with actual glass fibers instead of plastic can sound a bit better, but I have not tried, maybe someone else with more experience can comment on this.
cheers

you can also set the midi drivers for quicktime and realtek drivers in windoze to 24/96 under control panel. double click on the quicktime icon.

The OS X audio output may already be set to 2ch-24 bits and 44.1KHz- both of my MacBooks were set up this way by default and there was no need to change anything.
In any event, based on what I have read elsewhere, I would advise the OP to close iTunes before opening Audio Midi setup to make any changes and only to restart it once the changes have been made and the Midi program has been closed.
