Mark Goodier leaves Radio 1 after 15 years...

"Mark who?", I thought.
Apparently he hosted The Chart Show on Sundays, that's probably why I'd never heard of him then!
Is it just my age (42 - probably about average on this forum). Mind you The Chart Show (or whatever it was called in my youth) was never essential listening - unlike John Peel.
Are there any radio shows/stations worth listening to (for non-chart music)?

Late Junction on R3; Mike Hardings Folk Show on R2 Wednesdays.

Is it my imagination, or is it going badly off? I used to catch it late at night on the way back from things & heard an inspired mixture of obscure Vivaldi and Aphex Twin Philip Glass remixes -type-of-thing, which made me sit and listen after I had parked the car. Recently it seems to be all Nigerian nose flute nausea & Verity metamorphosing into Bob Harris c.1981. I hope I've just been unlucky...

I think Mr Goodier is being lined up for R2 (hopefully he will replace that hateful Ken Bruce), he is pretty much your standard radio jock but he does actually like and understand good music! I am a big fan of Humphrey Littleton's show on a Monday evening. Stuart Maconie is pretty good and is one of the few people to go on record as not liking Dylan (and putting forward a good argument in the process).

And add 'Mixing It', Sundays, about 22.00.
