THORENS TD147 Jubilee

Posted by: Arye_Gur on 18 February 2004

As I sold the LINN/Micromega/90-2 to replace with CDI and 140, (now I have CDI/32.5/HI/140/IBL) I bought for 166$ THORENS TD147 Jubilee.

What can you tell me about this TT? I'll get it tomorrow.

It's a variant of the venerable Thorens TD 160 line, with a less-than-stellar but quite reasonable Thorens arm (the TP 90 IIRC).

The TD 147 had an excellent reputation in its day, a useful upgrade from a Planar 3 and a competitor to the Linn Axis. Quite a lot of people preferred the Thorens.

Arye, do you read German? If yes, you'll get heaps of information here.
